In these verses, Jesus tells His disciples that he going to prepare a place. This is our heavenly home. Those who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ are assured of a place in the Father's house. This thought is a great comfort. To know that after life's long journey Jesus awaits, provides strength for the spirit in life's dark days.
While Jesus prepares us a place, He hasn't left us alone. We have the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit comes along side of us. He weeps with those who weep, and He rejoices with those who rejoice. The Spirit is our power and strength until we stand before Jesus on that great day.
