The book I am reviewing today is entitled "LuckyBoy". It is written and illustrated by Susan Boase. This is a children's book that tells the story of dog who starts out being stuck in the backyard and being paid little attention by his owners.
As the story progresses, the dog decides to do a little backyard exploring. He finds a small hole under the fence and digs until he is able to make it to the other side. On the other side of the fence was a lonely man who had recently lost his wife. He was thrilled to find the little dog in his yard.
I won't give away any more of the story. I will say this is a great story on a couple of different levels. It points out that a dog shouldn't just be placed in the backyard and forgotten about. A dog should be part of the family. When the right dog and the right person do find each other, true magic happens.
I highly recommend this book. It was fun to read, and the illustrations are all very well done.
