To begin this post, I would like to ask everyone to pray for the families and friends of the victims in the school shooting in the US yesterday. Pray that God will be with them during this time.
Mass shootings and school shootings are all too common here in the US. We are going to have to do something to curb this type of violence. One of the policies that would definitely help is to pass an assault weapons ban.
Mental illness also plays a role in violence. Here in the United States, many don't have the access that they need to mental health providers. If we had a proper national healthcare system in this country, people with problems would be more able to seek help even if they did not have the ability to pay.
We need to pray and ask God to help us and others. We also need to take action to curb the easy access to firearms, and we need to find ways for people to receive the mental healthcare that they need.
