Book Review -- No Ordinary Dog

A few years back, an elite SEAL Team unit went on a successful mission to eliminate Osama Bin Laden. On that mission was a soldier named Will Chesney and a dog named Cairo. "No Ordinary Dog" tells the story of Cairo's time in the military, and what he did in his retirement. The book also goes into detail about how Will Chesney trained to be a SEAL and what led him to become a military dog handler.

What I liked best about the book was the detail. Mr. Chesney provides a great amount of information about what is required to become a SEAL Team member. I especially enjoyed reading the information about how military dogs are selected and the elements that go into their training. There is also good historical information in the book about the Bin Laden raid.

I would recommend this book to those who are interested in military dogs and the bond that these dogs and handlers form. If it bothers you to read about dogs in dangerous situations, this is not not the book for you.
